Alyssa Block, Jewel Jasso, Elizabeth Sartuche, Lidia Briseno, Victoria Cota and Brenda Covarrubias helped College of the Sequoias CA capture its seventh consecutive Central Valley Conference women's title with a 17-40 victory over Fresno City College at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif. Block won the 5-kilometer race in 18:34, the 10th straight year a Giants' runner has captured the individual crown, and College of the Sequoias placed six runners in the top 12 waiting for usual No. 3 runner Antonia Lozano to return to the lineup for the postseason.
